Hello new friends! Thanks for stopping by, what I hope becomes, your new favorite place to read about fun, making memories, and the magic that is Disney. As early as I can remember I have loved all things Disney. The movies, the merch, the toys, and obviously the destination. You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone who loves the sounds, the smells, the rides, the sweets, or the corny jokes and puns found on the Jungle Cruise (backside of water, anyone?) more than me. But most of all, I love every new memory made while I’m there. I plan every vacation in detail months (sometimes a year) in advance and truly enjoy tweaking plans and looking for new family favorites at the parks and resorts. If you’re anything like my husband, parents, or friends you’re probably thinking how exhausting that must be. I know I can count on my fellow type A’s out there to understand the immense gratification from a fantastically planned trip. If you’re thinking that level of planning must suck the fun out of the trip, please see my next post about how my family vacations at Disney and make that decision for yourself. You might be surprised at how planning creates a more enjoyable vacation. Anyway, back to how we got here. Somewhere along the way my friends and family fell out of love with the magic of the Disney parks and looked forward to other adventures, but I remained steadfast in my love. As those same friends had families and wanted to go back to Disney, I became the go-to Disney planner. I have thought and dreamed about writing a blog for so long but always put it off for other reasons (work, kids, life) but if the last two years have taught me anything, it’s that you need to chase the things that bring you joy. But what makes me different than the thousands of other Disney bloggers out there? I’m certainly not an insider or paid by Disney to do any of these things. I am, however, a Midwestern momma of 4 kiddos (one with special needs) who understand how hard it is to plan a great family vacation. I wish we lived near Orlando so that Disney could be a regular visit for my family. Unfortunately, that’s not the case and each trip requires advance planning for vacation time, school and extra-curricular schedules, kennel availability for our two large dogs, and probably the most important; the cost associated with the trip! I have my favorite Disney bloggers that live close to Disney and give insights into the day-to-day of the parks and other local activities. The voice of a parent who understand the challenges of planning a trip from out of state was missing and with the encouragement of one of my very best friends (a travel agent extraordinaire you’ll come to know), I started this blog. So here we are, post one of a new adventure. I’m so glad you’re here!
